Do I get credit card rewards on Uber if I pay by UPI?
Not always. On Uber, Eternal SBI, PhonePe Ultimo and PhonePe SBI Black earn less, or nothing, when you pay through UPI (including a RuPay credit card on UPI). To get the full reward, pay with the card itself in the Uber checkout.
- Eternal SBI: Earns less when paid through UPI; 5% cashback on each whole ₹100 of payments of ₹100 or more; credited only for merchant IDs SBI has from the partner
- PhonePe Ultimo: Rides, by card or by UPI with this card; Uber Cash top-ups and car rentals may earn nothing
- PhonePe SBI Black: Earns nothing when paid through UPI; When paid online or in the app by card; UPI payments outside the PhonePe app earn nothing; at most 1,000 points (₹1,000) a month
